I think if you drool on it, you have to buy it. But, since no one else will want a bike that's been drooled on, you'll get it at a discount!Originally Posted by snapdragen

Here's our plan:
Amtrak is supposed to deliver us to the Diridon (or as snap pronounces it, the Deerdawn) Transit Center at 8:50. If we're on time we should be able to grab a VTA bus to the convention center for a 9:12 am delivery. We'll have to wait 30 mins if Amtrak is late.
The show doesn't open until 10. We have not pre-purchased tickets but I'm not going to stress about it.
Is there a coffee shop or good hang-out spot somewhere nearby? Or is anyone else arriving early? Perhaps the Jo and Lee Mobile (aka the Elementobile)?![]()

We'll be there, would you like to head out for breakfast someplace ? We could pick you up at the Amtrak station.
Snap, Kim, are either of you interested in a pre-show breakfast in San Jose, perchance? Anyone else?
We'll take the subaru instead of the element, the subaru is much better for passengers.
Just curious, do you have to take such an early train?
(Or is the schedule such that the early train is the only one, or the only practical one?)

The next unreserved train (unreserved gives us flexibility for return trips, exchanges, etc.) wouldn't arrive until 10:50. Therefore, the only practical one. Normally, this schedule wouldn't be a big deal but we're on our Winter schedule (as in hard to wake up in the dark unless your spouse is using unladylike 4-letter words).![]()
I'm sure that we can entertain ourselves if everyone wants to sleep in (and I can't blame them).
We'll probably have coffee and a pasty with us on the train because I have to have calories by 8 or so. But, what's another another pastry among friends? Or call it brunch and I could probably last until late in the afternoon for lunch. You'll always know when I need to be fed because I get crabby. Ok, feel free to say "Now how would we tell that!?"![]()

Well, multiple breakfasts work well for hobbits, so why not us too ?
You pretty much can't swing a cat, dead or otherwise, without hitting a restaurant in downtown San Jose. Here are a few that serve breakfast:
City Bar and Grill at the Hilton
Arcadia at the Marriott
Original Joes
Il Fornaio
Cafe Primo
Peggy Sue's
Don't know what the food or prices are like though......I've only had dinner at Original Joes.

Second breakfast would be OK with me, or lunch, or both. I haven't thought about my arrival time, but I'm very lazy this time of year - 10:30 or 11:00 sounds doable.
You and jo are quite the comedy duo. She didn't name a price for her wake up call service.
I just re-read my earlier post!My proofreading was obviously very cursory. No, there will be no lap dances on the train.
