    waffle weave towel

still on the loom because it is warped for 4 or 5 kitchen towels, but here are some pictures of it in progress.

At this point since it is still under tension it doesn't look very waffely but when I have finished the whole warp, cut the towels off the loom, washed and finished the edges, hopefully the waffle weave( small indented squares) and the plain weave (flat cloth like sections) will look distinctly different and equally good. There is some shrinkage that has to happen which can't happen until the pressure is released, the towels are "fulled" ( washed and shrunk) and finished ( hemmed and tidied up.)

I like the colors. And I'm a weaver too so of course I needed to see pics!

    HB Marni!

Well, I just got asked to consider joining a large, high profile firm that does the work that I do. Flattered at the suggestion, but I believe it's not the right fit for me right now. It is always nice to be asked, though. I am going to try to beg off in a way that will let me approach them in 5 - 10 years and re-initiate the conversation.

Congratulations!! It's always good to have options - even if they aren't the right options at the moment

So, aside from my post the other day congratulating MP on her latest feat of endurance, I've never really posted here or even followed the thread. Care to accept a late-comer?

I'll officially start by wishing marni a belated happy birthday! I'm glad you had a good day.

Second, congrats to MP on the job offer, even if it's not something you're interested in accepting; it's still cool!

Third, I took a Pilates reformer class yesterday--only my second ever--and I'm hurtin' a bit. It was really humbling and challenging. I'd really like to incorporate it on a regular basis if I can find a good duet partner. It's pricey, but I think I could really benefit from it.
