I notice that the headline of the article reads "Casa Orosco glows with enhanced Mexican cuising and decor"

    Do they mean cruising?
    Or cuisine?
Or is this a new combo of both?

Little known Trek trivia I used to be in graphic design and while I can't spell my way out of a paper bag I'm not truly happy at dinner till I find the typo.

    I'm happy now ;-)

I'm in and since I'm the designated driver for Bikeless that's 2 and since Spazz is resting I'm sure she's in...that's 3.

I love good Mexican food, but I don’t know about the night before a ride. Personally, I enjoyed Fuzio’s last year. The atmosphere was fun a lively and the food was good. And I didn't think that parking was a problem. (But I prefer to park far away and walk a little further because I’m fanatical about door dings in my car).

Is anybody else interested in pasta? I’ll start another thread so as not to hijack this one.

Like mother like daughter? Mom proofread my dissertation. Also my trial lecture at the dissertation defence -- while I was giving it. I had a slide up that quoted some doctor at a conference in 1800-something. I said 1900-whatever it was and Mom couldn't contain herself out there in the audience, shouted out "No, 18[and whatever]". I thanked her, pointed out that she was credited in the preface for proofreading the book, and after that ... no more nerves.

Since you're the designated driver, I'll eat where you eat. I do generally prefer Italian to Mexican, but enjoy both and can't claim any experience with what works best for me before a ride.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

I'd prefer mexican - but my top choice would be wherever is least noisy.
    Cheers!

bikeless in WI "Like mother like daughter?"

There's no way I am anywhere near as smart as our mutual Mom But maybe that's where I got the gene. Got the pun gene from Dad. Not as smart as him either.

"I do generally prefer Italian to Mexican, but enjoy both and can't claim any experience with what works best for me before a ride."

Just eat a balanced diet, plenty of complex carbs, avoid grease, hydrate hydrate hydrate. I avoid alchohol before a ride, but then I don't drink any way so...and limit coffee which is tough for me to do.

I have read somehere, maybe here that for women due to our vastly superior ability to process fat for energy (yeah this chocolate is fuel, yeah right) that pre-ride nutrition is not so much the mega pasta garlic bread and pancakes feast that men may need for endurance events as just eat balanced meals.

    So now they tell me.

Cindysue, are we getting old? "I just wanna eat somewhere quiet" We're trying to find the restaraunts we can hear in.

At least that's what I thought I heard you say.

yep! I'm getting old and hard of hearing. I guess it would be a cop-out to also say I'm senile and fortunately I don't yet need to hold reading material away from my eyes - I think I've got about 4 years until that happens.......
    Cheers!

Heck, I can throw reading material on the floor and I still can't see it.

    I'm getting swayed....

My choice is: less noise, easier parking. Thought Mexican might be nice for a change. Anybody know about noise factor there?
