I use cleats on mine. Wore on tour last year. Days with 50+ miles were not a problem.

I've had my Keens for almost 3 years now. They're in great shape, and I have NOT been gentle with them. They've finally developed a little odor lately, so last week I threw them in the washing machine with a load of rags (cleats and all!) and they look like new.
