Were you able to get your job in the PNW back??? Do you have to start again w a new company?

Geez and companies complian they can't hire good people . You're from an english speaking country, have good qualifications etc...

Are you n your man going to move on again? Perhaps Australia might not be a bad choice....Wasn't Melbourne a choice at one time? Same weather as seattle in many respects

I do need to start again with a new company, but mostly because there was no room to grow at my old company.

You have a great memory! Melbourne was a choice for a brief period. For the moment we've decided that going that far abroad is in the distant future. Parents are getting older and we'd like to at least be on the same continent.

SS, you're right -- I gave Edmonton 18+ months and that's plenty. Life is too short to stay someplace where you feel like you're going nowhere.

ETA: 69 degrees on my back porch and the sun is shining!
