I gotta draw a really weird lamp patent from 7 different angles this week- why are 99.9% of lamps so damned FUGLY ?!? Not complaining about having the work, though- it's great to have work!

Nothing blooming here yet except crocuses...yet my honeybees are finding some pollen from somewhere...I see them bringing it in on they little leg baskets. I'll be raising some new colonies from that hive this summer- yay for baby hives!

Guess I better pump up my flat winter bike tires sometime soon and get off my lazy butt now that it hits the 40'sF every day.

Do you sell your honey? I'd love to buy some!

Valerian = DIRTY SOCKS! We used to have this growing in our yard. One of my nieces, when she was quite young, brought some in and put it in a vase on our coffee table. Everyone that sat down there with my niece started accusing the poor little girl of having really stinky feet until we figured out where the smell was coming from!

Ahhh, off to fix Kit's car. It left her sit by the side of the road the other day on the way home from her clinicals at the hospital. It was just the alternator. She had it towed through a tow service that the police told her to call. They charged her over $200 to go 4 miles!! (turns out, it costs extra for the kickback to the police when they are involved) Then the shop calls me the next day and tells me that it's going to be $600 for the new alternator to be put in. ???? (an alternator is usually in the range of $150-180) So, I added the roadside service to our insurance yesterday, (my fault for not having it on there to begin with) we will have it towed home today for the premium of $13, and we have an alternator from AutoZone for $180 to put in ourselves today. I won't go into what I said to the shop guy when he called me "missy" on the phone as he was telling me how hard it was to do this, thus the $600 bill. I just showed up on my Harley, paid the $50 for the diagnosis (which is free at any AutoZone and most other parts places, just so you know) and told him it will be gone tomorrow. (today) I did add that I work for the largest employer in Portland and he won't exactly be getting an endorsement from me.

Time for an adventure we weren't planning, once again. *sigh*

Yes she is hot, isn't she and brilliant. I was just up there, she'll be down here in a couple weeks. My job at the antique store cough cough is being an absolute Richard Head about any transfer/promotion/movement. I've read somewhere it's bad form to post about your current job especially whilst seeking another somewhere else even in the anonymity that is our very own TE TD. So I will spare you all the details at least publicly. It's tough but I remain cautiously optimistic.

So I tried it. Made tea with dirty socks. It had no calming effect

Hey Pax...i'm sorry about your knee. I hurt my shoulder this winter and it's so slowly healing- amazing how much such things can curtail your activities.

I did a 3 hour contra dance last night- wonderful full body exercise that's never boring.

Today I finally got back on my bike after this dreary winter and did an easy 6 miles to ease my rear back in gear slowly...Spring Sitbone Soreness isn't much fun.
I was surprised I made it up our steep hill without any major trouble. Nice to get back on the bike again, and nice to feel my legs burning afterwards.

RedR- most hives won't give honey enough to take from until their second year- and this is the second year for this hive (another will be a first yr hive)...so I'm hoping for some honey by this coming Fall...if my luck holds...knock on wax. lol
