Gosh i don't know where you guys get your self control- more power to you... I would feel like I was starving if I only ate those little amounts of things. Are you all counting out like three almonds?
I tend to really crave lots of carbs and fats during the winter, and I gain some weight during the cold months...then I notice my body craves fruits and salads more in the warm months, and it's easier to be active and eat less fat then...I must be a bear. I could eat a whole salmon with my bare hands and teeth right now.
I have been eating daily servings of seaweed and kelp since the Japan disaster. I've always loved eating seaweed a couple times a month, and have several dried varieties in my cupboard, so I figure what the heck go for it!- now I'm eating a serving every day. i actually like eating seaweed even more than kale, for instance.
I love seaweed in warm broth with a pinch of sea salt...love the 'beach aroma' and even like the little grains of sand at the bottom... must have lots of good trace minerals.

I love seaweed; let's just say if I ate it, I would seriously lose a lot of weight, because it had an instant GI effect on me . Not good.
I eat good, healthy food and I also tend to gain in the winter, if I don't watch it. If I ate everything I craved, I estimate an extra 5-10 lbs if I didn't pay attention. The older I get, the less carbs I can eat. But, once the cycling season starts, it's less of a concern. And, I'm still very active in the winter.
Lisa, you've seen me eat... you know I'm not someone who totally restricts my food!

HEY! I had a brownie yesterday for dessert! Will probably have another! I'm generally and never have been a snacker. Only when I'm working out more do I eat more snacky stuff

That doesn't look so bad. In fact, I'd probably add some fruit and call it good. Nothing wrong with a brownie once in a while.
