(((HUGS))) Hope your husband will heal up quickly.

We saw the aftermath of a car having hit a cyclist on Saturday on our way home. Saw in the paper the cyclist was taken to the hospital, but will be fine, no major injuries is what was reported. The person who hit him was cited (car actually did not leave the sceen). What we saw was two cop cars, a car with some damage and a bike laying in the grass.

    Holy cow!
I'm glad he wasn't hurt worse- but it sounds like he was hurt pretty bad!

Stupid drivers need to PAY ATTENTION!!! Worries me every day on my commute. Good grief...

    Hope he heals soon!

How awful that he got hurt, compounded by the fact that the jerk got away with it. I hope your DH heals quickly. May I ask what road he was on, out of curiosity?

I hope that he heals quickly, such an awful thing to happen! Someone I work with had a friend hit by a car just the other day - and the driver did not stop then either. I do not know what is happening to the world where no one seems to feel responsible for their actions.

Honestly-my DH thinks the driver may not have even seen him or been aware that they hit him.

Badgercat, he was traveling east on Broadway, entering the intersection at Craycroft. The car was not in the (very generous) bus/bike lane, but in the right hand travel lane. The car came from behind then did a quick right turn on to Craycroft. It is a well lit intersection and as I say, he had on 3 bright lights.

Praying for a speedy recovery. Turning cars around here almost never seem to see cyclists or pedestrians. It's like they only have eyes for the cars on the cross street, and nothing alongside. Bike lanes seem to be a good idea only in theory.

    Sending hugs,

    Biciclista- today?

He's got a constitution of steel I think. I have heard almost no complaining. I would have been whining and moaning. Lots. He stayed home from work, and mostly is wearing the sling. The road rash is quite minimal. By the time I got home he had gotten "cabin fever" and had driven up to Saguaro National Park to take photos. Percoset is probably helping... maybe not such a good idea to drive with that though... Anyway- he will go back to work tomorrow I think, but will be taking the bus or driving- so ends the "perfect commute year".

He'll see the doctor either Friday or Tuesday. His new user pic on another board is an illustration of a scapula with the word fracture above it.... he's got a sense of humor anyway.

Thanks again for all the good wishes- I think he was very lucky.
