I'd be aiming the javelin at the groups that congregate after every intersection making it impossible to ride in the bike lane. One reason (out of many) that I will not do this ride again.

Truthfully though, for anyone who hasn't ridden this ride before, this ride probably has the highest percentage of inexperienced group cyclists of all I have ridden. Combine the high volume of riders with the traffic density -- please be very careful!
