I don't know yet. A friend in Sebastopol is helping set up the benefit, so maybe there. The benefit is for some folks who live out in Bodega, though. Anyways, somewhere in west Sonoma county.

Oh, and Slinkedog? I bet you finish before me. Wait for me and go for a drink after? If I actually finish, I'll want to celebrate.

Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

And you don't have to go far for the celebratory drink - they usually open the bar at Camp Parks.

fiber is good for you. Is this one of those crazy diets that is supposed to make you lose weight faster than say cutting excess calories and exercising more?

nah, not a crazy diet, or fad, Bikeless has to go low fiber for medical reasons.

Sounds good! Maybe we can just stay together the whole ride and finish together. I'm slow as molasses in January. I'm so good at getting dropped, I've made it an art form. Just FYI, there are a lot of nice calves in the cycling community out here in CA.

So what constitutes slow anyway? DH is does his own ride after we ride together. My fast speed doesn't give him a workout at all.

I'm definately up for the slow but steady. I'm stronger than last year but still not very strong. :/ I'm also on new meds (again - sigh) plus who knows what the nephrologist will put me on by that point. :/

I don't know exactly how you define slow. All I know is I'm always slower than everyone I ride with. Especially on hills. 5 - 8 mph on hills is about my average. I'd say I average anywhere from 12 - 15 mph on the flats without a tail or headwind. Does that help?

yes it's mandatory Just kidding Mel, lots of women wear costumes but it's not required. A helmet's the only thing required ... wait a minute, wait a minute, let's not go with that visual It's not clothing optional.

My daughter has a cool Cinderella tiara that I'm going to try to hijack the day of the ride. I just hope I don't break it.

I think we're about the same speed. I can go a little faster on the flats but not always sustained (depends on how I feel that day). My speed on hills is essentially the same as yours though I know I'm getting faster. It used to be I'd have to stop on overpasses. Now I'm able to stand and power through them which definately used to not be the case.

So, I think we'll be able to keep the same pace and encourage each other.

    Mel
