B- cornflakes with skim milk, tea with milk
Lunch- borek with spinach and feta. I think it's a Turkish dish, it's like a very thin pita like bread that's heated up with filling and very flat. with hot peppery tomato sauce on side.

    1 coffee with milk
Half chocolate truffle tarte shared with dearie -Valentine's gift

Supper- He's throwing together kohl rabi, fennel bulb, and whatever for dish. Will have leftover elk wine sauce over noodles probably.

    Will end with fresh fruit.

I need to get "back on the wagon" when it comes to veggies! We haven't really been shopping this week, so the only veggies in the fridge are a questionable-looking bell pepper and three rather limp carrots.

B: Tea with milk and sugar, steel cut oats with PB and 2 teaspoons of sugar.
L: Bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese.
S: One white fudge Oreo and an apple
D: 6-7oz steak, baked potato. We were going to have broccoli, but it was...fuzzy.
D: 3-inch across chocolate cake. It was filled with some kind of chocolate goo. I ate the cake, but not the goo. Too rich.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

It's a good idea to keep frozen veggies on hand for times like these. We buy organic veggie blends (plus plain broccoli cuts and green beans) at the food co-op, so we are never totally without a veg. choice for dinner. Often frozen veggies are higher in vitamins and minerals than fresh, particularly if you can't shop at a farmer's market. When veggies have to be shipped long distances, then sit in your fridge for days, they can lose nutritional value quickly.

I'll admit that yesterday was not exactly healthy. It was our first wedding anniversary so I'm cutting myself some slack!

    B: high fiber cereal with 2% milk (so far so good);

    L: homemade mushroom barley soup and half an apple (still doing fine);

D: (This is wear things fall apart) Homemade meatloaf, peas, and mashed potatoes. Plus, a glass or two of Champagne.

    S: Ice cream cone

Today, I'm back on track! I did go for a ride yesterday, but I'm pretty sure it didn't make up for my diet.

First of all - congratulations on your first anniversary - that rocks! Second, it sounds like a delightful dinner - really like the sound of the snack as well

My weekend was a disaster since we had a guest at the house that likes to eat out and eat a lot.

    Saturday:
    Coffee
B: Two eggs, 1 piece toast, 1/2 slice ham and hashbrowns at a local restaurant, OJ

Lunch: Bowl of chicken noodle soup, apple, beer

Dinner: Big plate of mexican food, chicken tacos, beans, rice and wonderful margarita.

    Sunday:
B: Cereal (wheat chex and milk), coffee, oj

Lunch: Nothing till around 3:00 as we went on a long motorcycle ride; then ate a HUGE hamburger and fries at the Haunted Hamburger.

Dinner - One glass of wine - i could not eat anything more after that burger and fries!

    Today:

B oatmeal with blueberries and pecans

    S multigain bread with PB

L frozen veggie lasagna and a slice of bread

S dried fruit and nut bar, a plum, and an orange

D burrito with broccoli, brown rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, salsa

S almonds, pecans, dried cranberries and raisins

I need some mo. Wish I had a yogurt in the house. Maybe I'll dig into the mango sorbet.

ETA, I had a small bowl of oatmeal with blueberries instead of the mango sorbet. I felt very depleted from my windy commute.

    S: Cliff bar

    40 minute strength training session
    60 minutes spinning class

B: Steel-cut oats with cinnamon and maple syrup
L: A bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese
S: A few pieces of smoked salmon--I need to get it out of the fridge before I leave
D: I picked up dinner from the local middle eastern restaurant. Spicy beef pita roll (with plenty of veggies) and a salad. I might have some of the pita bread with hummus if I want a snack later.

I really want a chai from the coffeeshop, or barring that a nice cup of tea at home...but if I do that, I know I won't sleep tonight.
