Crankin! Why do we always over-do it? Hope you feel better soon. Last week I had the stomach flu. I tried to make breakfast for our kids when I started to feel dizzy and blacked out. Landed smack on my face. Woke up a minute or so later with a mouth full of blood. I ended up with 2 black eyes, a swollen cut-up nose, split lip, and various scrapes and bruises on my face.

    ANYWAYS . . .
I did speedwork on my inlaws treadmill today. Why does it seem harder to run on the treadmill than outside? The roads are covered in ice. So if I wanted to do speedwork, treadmill it had to be.

Treadmill again for me today... yuck. I'd planned on 5 or 6 miles, but at just 3 I felt wiped out. Then a brilliant thought-- it might be because I gave blood last night. So 4 miles was enough for me today...

It's warming up, and if the sleet/freezing rain holds off I might be running outside over the next few days!! but if the ice comes, who knows.

Treadmill for me last night. 4 miles while watching Star Trek. I had to speed it up in the middle of the run or the movie was going to end before I was done and I didn't want to have to run without it! I timed it just right. Credits ran while I cooled down.

Yikes Limewave! Feel better soon, and you too, Crankin!

Bad weather in the forecast pushed our departure date back a day, so you KNOW what I got to do with the extra time today. Definitely no running on the roads with snow on them, so five laps of the one-mile fitness trail again. Better than nothing. Better than dreadmill.

Geez, Limewave, that sounds awful. All I did was sit down and hold my head for a few seconds. But, I took my time getting in the shower, as I had thoughts of fainting in there. I did manage to get my pigeon stretch in.
The cold outside is really bothering me; I am chalking it up to not feeling well. I don't want to end up being one of those old people who complain about the cold weather. Normally, I'd be outside running or at least walking. I had to go out and buy a couple of holiday gifts this afternoon, go to Trader Joe's, and get $ from the ATM. I wish that my cold would either come out all the way, or go away. I'm occasionally sneezing, my sinuses are a little achy, and I feel achy. I have that "far away" feeling, that's driving me nuts. I hope it's from the Claritin. Early to bed tonight and no running or riding tomorrow, maybe yoga. I'm supposed to ride outside Friday, but it looks like it might be all the way up to 36.

Limewave, that sounds bad one wouldn't believe what can happen to you while preparing breakfast Get better soon!

On my last runs, my lower calf started to hurt when I was halfway in. Nothing too bad, but noticeable. I can still feel it today, after a 2 days break. I'm not sure if it's just a little soreness or something I should take more serious. I think I'm just a bit concerned because of the many stories about Achilles-Problems I have heard.
I would hate to have to take a longer break

Lime, that's terrible! I hope you and Crankin are both feeling better.

The ice came last night and since I don't have a treadmill (I use the one at the gym when I have to) I'm putting the bike on the trainer.....Ugh!

    Get better everyone!

I tried to run on tuesday. HA! THat was funny. You know how they say you should, "listen to your body?" Well, my body was clearly telling met to go home and eat chocolate. So....I did....

Today was my last training run before Saturday's Celtic Solstice 5-miler. Went out and did 4.1 miles in darkness, before our snow today (1-2 inches...mid-westerners, promise not to laugh!). At 2.5 miles, my Sony's battery died, and I ran the rest of the way listening only to my own labored breathing and the slap-slap-slap of my big duck feet on the pavement.
