Ha, I was thinking the same thing. I loved the duathlon I did last Spring and hope to do at least 2-3 next year. But I can't imagine trying to put shoes on while pedaling. I don't see how it could ever save me time.

I've seen triathletes with what looks like riding barefoot. The pedal looks like a huge platform. Can they just ditch the whole idea of shoes and socks?

No more laughing at someone's misfortune! I missed a turn at my race last night and went from 3rd to way off the podium. I also fell AFTER the race near a large group and have a huge bruise on my hip plus scrapes and cuts on my legs and more bruising. Let this be a lesson. Originally Posted by Aggie_Ama

I witnessed something similar to this at a mass start of a cross race last Sunday.
Everyone was fine but one guy ended up as a dns due to some sort of resulting mechanical.
