I got back today, all shiny and new and wasn't told off (I have been baaaad about flossing) and was given my very own probe thingy to scratch off some occasional tartar.

Last time they used ultrasound on me. It was painful. There is a reason they anesthetize pets to do it. I refused this time.

Actually flossing on a pretty regular basis, and investing in a Sonic care electric tooth brush has made my dentist visits much more pleasant. I plan on keeping the rest of my teeth. I am always astonished at how much crud I pull out, after brushing, when I floss. WHHHHHYYYYYY did I avoid it for so many years? When now my teeth look like this: !

I'll let you know if my professional organization starts recommending that breast flossing thing. I'll go become a sherpa if I have to include THAT in my patient education! L.

I'm a dental hygiene student, and yes, flossing is good! I'm learning a lot about the bacteria in the gunk you pull out with your floss. A very simplified version of what our textbooks say is that the waste products from those bacteria are a big part of what makes your gums sore and infected. Congrats to those of you who've made the connection and have improved your health by flossing! Flossing is very good...ok, I'll hop off my soap box now.

If they start teaching us about breast flossing I'll let you know.

Flossing = good. Please be careful, my dad was over zealous, and actually put grooves in his gums! Probably one of the only people asked to NOT floss......

The timing of this is so funny. I recently got my braces off (yay yay yay) and it had just recently occurred to me that I've become a flossing maniac. It's so much easier without the rebar in the way
