    The stories in the comments are pretty amusing, too. I love the death bike picture.

    I don't remember anything so traumatizing when I learned to ride. I don't even remember learning, I know my dad rode me around on his bike from the time I was very young, so maybe it was just a natural progression that I entirely forgot.

    I do remember my first "gear" bike, a hybrid (somewhere between a mountain bike and hybrid, the tires weren't too knobby and it was more like a road bike but I know I took it in dirt/gravel), which I bought touch-up paint for so I could keep it looking like new - it was the most fantastic shade of metallic blue. I also did a lot of rollerskating (or rollerblading when they came out and became popular). To this day, I am still learning to go downhill "fast" on any wheels, it's not due to trama, but being overly-cautious.
