    Another vote for the PB Superflash...I've had one clipped onto my seatbag for 2 years and it's still going strong...and I've ridden in some torrential downpours.

    yeah - I don't ride in the rain on purpose if I can help it, but I did a couple of organized rides last year when it rained pretty much all day - drowned my cadence sensor the first time, took the sensor off pre-emptively the second time - and no water got into my blinky. Water leakage is probably related to the lens's proneness to popping off, and I expect the zip tie helps with that, too.

    another vote for Superflash

    In the ~$20 category there is nothing even close to as bright as the Superflash.

    Thanks, all, for the recommendations. Turns out my BF was at REI on Sunday and picked up a replacement light for me (same one) without being asked.
    At least I don't leave slime trails.
