I too have gotten the dry (or not so dry) heaves from cycling.

In fact I got my first taste after picking up my first bike, riding up a hill and had to stop. I was so unfit!

Apart from heat and too high a heart rate I have also found nausea/dry heaves linked to how fit you are and over-extending yourself.

I haven't have the heaves for a few years now and I put it down to drinking from my camelbak constantly, taking breaks and that my fitness level has increased.

Probably not the answer you were looking for as I see you felt you were taking it easy.

tucker- I have had the Novovirus three times in the last 5 years. It was awful and way worse, let's just say I am not living in my bathroom. I am pretty sure I am not pregnant.

Zen- You crack me up. I rarely puke so two days in a row and now I am scared to go ride. No one likes puking, me included!

Kiwi- I was using a Camelback Saturday and wouldn't take the bite valve out. Today it was bottles but I was watching to make sure I wasn't forgetting to drink. I am definitely not in the shape of my life so I probably overdid it some but not excessively. Last summer I became a couch potato for many reasons but the heat was definitely one. I don't want to do that!
