I'm happy with what I have in the stable at the moment, but there are times that I covet a lighter, zippier bike.

    Tourer - Rodrieguez Adventure
Errand/Putzing around the neighborhood - Masi Soulville Mixte
    MommyWagon 2.0 - Xtracycle w/ Trek 820 step-through
    Everything in moderation, including moderation.

    2009 Masi Soulville Mixte/B18
    1997 Trek 820 Step-thru Xtracycle/B17

    Bacchetta Giro - commuter bike
Bacchetta Corsa - fast/weekend/fun ride bike
Greenspeed X3 - trike. errand bike. I love the trike, but it's so slow I can't bring myself to ride more than ~10 miles on it, if even that.
+ Velomobile on order - this will become my commuter. I may have to sell the Giro, or not.

    Bacchetta Giro (recumbent commuter)
    Bacchetta Corsa (recumbent "fast" bike)
Greespeed X3 (recumbent "just for fun" trike)
    Strada Velomobile
I will never buy another bike!

2 right now. A mountain bike - Specialized Stumpjumper and my love, a road bike - Specialized Ruby Pro. My husband has 3 and is always looking to add to the collection. Soon the bikes will overtake the car space in the garage. You girls definitely make me feel better about having these bikes in the garage.

Enough so that my bikes are worth more than my car.

Oh yeah well so the engine's blown and the car is worth squat but even if it was still running the bikes would win.

Well I had 5.5 but I actually did an N-1 and now have only 4.5.

    Two road..

My roadie/doing triathlons bike - 2008 Shogun Ninja
My new flatbar roadie - 2010 Scott Speedster S20FB

    Two mountain..

The hard tail that is now on slicks and is the around town hack - 2008 Kona Lisa HT
The dual suspension that fits like a glove - 2009 Specialized Era Marathon in pink anodised finish

    Half a tandem...

The captain's seat of the Holstar Roadster is mine and the DD stokes and put sup with all the jokes about "the kid back there not pedalling!"

The departing bike was my original road bike bought to do triathlons back in the mid-1980s.

    commuter
    mountain bike
    road bike

    but ....

the mountain bike doesn't get used much and still has slicks on it from the last tour 5 months ago - need to put the knobblies on (and check the fittings for lights) so it can double as a commuter if we get snow (generally only once or twice a year here but can be anytime between June and September) - sounds like a job for the upcoming long weekend

the commuter is a real cheapie, 8 years old and not well maintained (mea culpa) - really needs new chain, brake pads, cables, cassette, bottom bracket and tyres - might be time for a new bike (although there is a limit to what my 3.5 km flat commute can justify)

still happy with the road bike.

BF has a commuter and a mountain bike - sometimes thinking about a road bike.

I officially have two, the beloved Surly Cross Check and a vintage Motobecane Nobly that is a touch too small. I am on the prowl for another one, a project single speed for commuting to work since I'm always afraid someone might steal my Surly from the ill-lit rack behind our building.

My partner has nine, but since they all fit me they can almost count.

In my 350sq apt you'll find....

    '97 Lemond Zurich 49cm
    '08 Bianchi San Jose 49cm
    '90 Trek 330 ss/fixed conversion "Scotty"
'85 Panasonic Sport-1000 fixed gear "Frankenbyke" (stock frame/fork/headset/bb, ebay and kindness for the rest)

One of them usually stays on my balcony. Whew. Plan to sell the two conversions now that I have a BSJ. Just need to do a lil wrench work, clean 'em up.....

I have one hybrid, but now I want a mountain bike too, and I want a tandem rider attached to something for my daughter.

    Fantastic!
This gives me another excuse (like if I needed one... ) to buy more bikes:
I tend to like expensive cars - thus need to buy more bikes to catch up with car values
    Perfect logic!
    I kinda like this thread...
