Sending hugs your way. We said goodbye to our Scottie mix, Arthur, today. We had him for 10 years. He was a sweet boy, and a real character. I'd write more, but I can't see through the tears.

seems many animals are passing these past couple of days I'm so sorry for you both. Take care, and cherish the memories. It's going to be tough for a while, but soon you'll be able to smile when you remember them.

UGH! I don't know about you Blackhillsbiker, But I keep looking towards Maggie's spot to see her in the morning.
I told my kids that my grandpa was going to take really good care of her in heaven. that helped them. but now how do I get it though my subconsious?

There's an ebb and flow to the healing process. Give yourself time to mourn and don't feel like you need to defend your grieving. Our pets are family members too.

I lost my australian shepherd in Aug '08 and I didn't remove her feeding bowl until Feb of this year. I just didn't want to see an empty spot where her bowl was.
