Am I the only who who doesn't even consider color in buying a bike? I mean, if it was puke green, maybe I would say no, but if it was the bike I wanted, I took it, for all 5 bikes I have bought.

Wow! I think I would be a customer for life. The Pink Divas are so gorgeous, all the Orbeas just look fast sitting still. My pink and black Fisher garners a lot of attention and the the funniest thing is how many men want to check it out!

Was color the most important factor in my decision, absolutely not. A buyer has two choices when it comes to color for this particular bike. If the blue had been the only color available I would have gone with it. DH encouraged me to go with the color I preferred and I did and given I had a choice I picked the one I really liked.

What an awesome LBS! So glad you will have something to ride until YOUR Orbea comes.

In general I have pretty much just let color be an incidental thing to my bike purchases, since getting a good fit can be such a challenge; but I have found that the more I spend on a bike, the more I care about the color

My oldest (and cheapest) bike is a color I actually hate, since I bought it in my 20s when it was REALLY hard to part with any kind of cash. So I decided to sleep on the decision for a night and when I got to the shop the next day the color I liked had sold out. So I ended up with this pissy metallic yellow mountain bike. I still think the color is terrible, but the upside is that I think the color has made it theft-proof! That bike has been with me for 12 years, through SF, Cambridge, NYC and Seattle. I don't think I could pay anyone to take it off my hands!

When I got fitted for my road bike a couple of years ago, they said you can take this green bike home today, or if you want some other color we can deliver it to you in 3-4 weeks. I wasn't crazy about the green and honestly the concept of choosing a color scheme was mind-blowing. For what I budgeted for that bike, might as well go for it, right?

The wait is worth it. I love my pistachio (grasshopper green) Diva. Two years ago for my 50th birthday I decided I was going to go for the Diva after riding my husband's Orca for a year and the shop said 2 weeks, but ended up being 2 months. I e-mailed the distributor from the web site to check on the shop. I wanted the blue, but then they said it was on backorder so pink or green and I got the green. I like this year's pink scheme with the white.
Two years later and my DH and I have made a small investment in a new local bike shop. They started carrying Orbeas and to my surprise, he gets them in within a week. In fact, the owner's fiance got a pink one just about a month ago, her first road bike. It's the next size up though. A lot more Divas at our Zin Spin Century a couple of weeks ago. Whatever the color, it's a comfortable, fast ride. Enjoy!
