It's amazing what a difference the 45 miles between you and me makes on hill preparedness!

LOL, especially since I just learned how to ride a bike for the first time in my lifeRight now I am focusing on learning how to shift where hills are concerned - but I have to find some first
Actually Boone County (NW side of Indy) has some nice hills, and there is a rather large one in the park I practice in.
I couldn't find information on that website regarding the May 22 date - I am assuming that they will have something up there soon...

Come ride with me and I'll take you here:

Trust me: you don't have hills in Boone County. Get indysteel and we can meet in Martinsville...and we'll take you on a hilly fun ride that will include a brief ride along the stretch Hwy 37 filmed in Breaking Away!
And for the record, when I did RaIN two years ago, it accounted for 5% of my lifetime miles that day! You'll be surprised what you can do!
Also, I understand the Ride2Recovery info should be posted this week.

When I get my Long Haul Trucker in the next couple of weeks and have time to get comfy shifting it (bar end shifters) I would love to meet you and IndySteel around Martinsville some Saturday. I was just down there so I have an idea what kind of hills they have. Boone County can be my hill "nursery" as we certainly do NOT have any in Speedway
Ummm, just not the Boltinghouse Hill![]()
As long as it is "down"
I am looking forward to checking out these bar-end shifters. There are no shift indicators, will just have to learn it by feel. Thankfully I currently have a friend's trainer in my living room so I can "practice" a bit before taking it to my Eagle Creek Park "testing grounds". One thing is sure, I will HAVE to learn to get my hands to move around the bars to be able to shift![]()
Will you post a link when there is one? May is super busy for us (husband graduating, moving to Kirksville MO, starting a new job), but my sister who lives in Bloomington might be interested in going to see the riders, if her semester is over by then.
