Am trying to remember the exact yr. when Hansen rolled into our hospital since I worked at the hospital for 3 yrs. I never took any photos nor made any written notes at that time.

After looking at those older clips, I realized why I never paid much attention to Lance Armstrong until his last 2 Tour de France races.....after seeing Rick Hansen in person, a serious athlete at that time.

Really there's no comparison. He ranks in my (narrow?) mind, on par with Armstrong but a very different type of athletic celebrity. And one alot of people cannot say he is arrogant, etc. ...because he never appears to be.

For others who may not know, he married his physiotherapist and they have 3 daughters. Pretty ordinary life.

Not true for other disabled athletes, Steve Fonyo who (who ran on prosthetic leg like Terry Fox) was recently charged for possession of illegal drugs and for drug dealing...from his hospital bed.
