Complete another duathlon. Place better than I did last year.
Complete in at least 2 sprint triathlon's. Try to run the ENTIRE 5K without walking!
Ride the MS150...and to make it 150 miles... instead of 65!
Think about... and maybe train for... an Olympic distance triathlon.
To stay health and to try to keep from going over 120 pounds due to eating out too much!
and just a little more....
finish my very first self portrait, and do total 15 miles weekly run or 500 miles for 2006, a marthaon, maybe one or two centuries, learn how to skate, camp in Yellow Stone N.P., I loved the trip and the rides in Moab UT, maybe I will try to visit Moab again.

1) Complete the 2006 AIDS Lifecycle (SF-LA- 585 miles in 7 days) (this goal incorporates the "do a century" goal - probably by March)
2) keep losing weight, getting stronger, and liking myself more
3) ride all the way to the top of Mt. Diablo
4) make the "Keep Calm and Carry On" WWII poster in my office my daily (hourly!) mantra
5) get back "on the cushion " and meditate regulary (see #4!)
I guess that'll do!
To ride 3/4 of the AIDSLifeCycle ...what's that? 438.75 miles.
To ride the Cinderella classic in March.
To be able to stay on the funky balance board thingie at the gym for more than one minute.
Simple goals, in no particular order.
take a break from the AIDS ride but better not get tooooo outa shape so I can do it again in 2007 so....
to ride the equivelant of it in miles on ALC training rides.
do the Top Hat.

bike commute more, try to have balance in my bikeing, dog walkies and Aikido.
and Shadon, 3/4 my a**, you will do it all! Reach for the stars and you may miss and hit the moon. Train to do the whole ride. Get to rest stop 4 each day. Just the idea of seeing what those guys do each day kept me goin'. And then it's just a short ride to camp.
For example if you can do the Cindy and a longish ride the next day, and one or two other metrics before June like Primavera, Day on the Ride, you will do jest fine.

On ALC3 my plan was train harder than the actual ride, then treat ALC like a 7 day recovery ride. Focus on recovery each day,hydrate, eat lots. Kinda blew it on Day 4 but otherwise ok.
This year went a lot better. Trained more, ate more!! Rode all but 10 miles.
Oh, I forgot a goal acheive world peace

I am determined *not* to beat myself up over this ride...hence the goal to do most of the ride. I'm having so much fun that whatever I do will be fine!

1. Ride 5000 miles. Same goal as this year. I thought about upping it since I hit my goal Thanksgiving Day (woohoo!) but I don't think I can increase my mileage significantly without sacrificing other activites I enjoy (running, soccer) or having riding become a chore. First and foremost, I want the riding to remain fun.
2. Run a sub-55 minute 10K in a qualifier race so I can get in a seeded timegroup for the Peachtree Road Race.
3. Improve my duathlon time from 2 yrs ago. I got a DNF in the only duathlon I did last year due to mechanical problems.
4. Dare I say it??? Enter a road bike race. OK, now that it's out there, I guess I've got to do it. I've done plenty of running races and a couple of duathlons so I'm not sure why I'm so nervous about racing on my bike. I've joined a club team so hopefully by training with them, I can get the confidence to get out there and do it.
5. Climb Brasstown Bald. This is a tough, tough climb. It's not long (only a couple of miles) but it's steep. There's one section called 'The Wall' that is 20% grade.

To be strong enough to climb the steep hills without falling over. I'm afraid this has happened in the past because I can't seem to unclip fast enough when my legs turn into logs![]()
I also want to do my first century, as well as the MS 150.
To do another rim-to-rim-to-rim Grand Canyon hike. But this time I want to do the entire hike in under twentyfour hours...no sleeping on the North rim! No tears either...last time my IT band went bonkers and I had to do eleven hours of the hike in intense pain![]()

Free time to fly back to Phoenix for as many training hikes up and down Camelback Mountain that I can possibly fit in...and as long as I'm there...a few hikes up and down Piestua Peak (aka Squaw Peak) for good measure too.
To do the Danskin tri without the aid of a swim angel. Gonna need lots of practice time in the water if that is going to happen!
Last, but not least, to keep riding these rolling Austin hills... to get stronger, faster, and perhaps a little lighter in the saddle.
