    Big News (for me anyway)

Hello all! I haven't been on for a few (a lot) of months because my life has taken a huge turn for the better!

I am getting married in June!

The plan is to get married in New Brunswick Canada then do a bike tour along the Confederation Trail on Prince Edward Island.

Yes he is a touring cyclist and loves it! Last summer on a day tour a friend mentioned to him about him riding bike too and he replied "I couldn't be her boyfriend if I didn't"

Anyway the marriage will be turning my life upside down. He lives 2.5 hours away so I will be selling my house, looking for a new job and moving this summer. If there isn't a job to be found I will stay where I am at and continue the weekend commute.

So anyway his valentine gift is a gently used trainer - does it get any better than that?

    congrats. eclectic!

We bike toured in the Maritime provinces many years ago.Almost 15 yrs. ago. Confederation Bridge had not been constructed at that time. We loved during the hot summer nights in PEI, camping at beach and buying fresh lobster from the fishermen, for cooking. I did an oil painting of PEI scene --it inspired me.

Dont' forget to try the Malpeque mussels! Because they were plentiful/in season, we were so shocked to get a wine steamed platter of over 20mussels..for $5.00.

Would you care to join TE in the Maidie doll bike relay journey where we pass around the Oxfam doll from member to member worldwide?

I would LOVE too! I will be going to the Maritimes in June if that is convenient or when she can make arrangements and find the time she can visit me here. I will try to get her to the Center of North America marker and how fun if she could visit the Peace Gardens and have her picture taken while in Canada and the US at the same time.

Does she have a valid passport to get across the border?

    Yay!!! Congratulations.

I am currently in a long distance relationship... I know what you're saying about the weekend commute thing. Good luck with the new job search and the wedding.

Congrats eclectiic!!! I'm SO happy for you! You deserve every bit of happiness that life blesses you with! Congrats!

Will the bikes be a part of the wedding?? Riding in on solo bikes, leaving on a tandem perhaps?

Now THAT would be TOO COOL! Why didn't we think of that?

Actually we are getting married at a Nature center by an abandoned lighthouse on the Northumberland Strait. It is an easy trail hike in but we will be wearing hiking boots. So we went with the hiking theme instead of biking, but the biking was our first choice. We were wishing it was legal to ride across the Confederation bridge but alas it isn't so we settled on having it in the background too.

Wahine - How far are you having to travel? We always say "at least we are in the same state" The irony is, he lived where I do for 10 years and just moved 2.5 years ago and our sons graduated from high school together, but he and I never crossed paths

We're in the same state too... unfortunately, he's not far from the southern border of OR on the coast and I'm right on the northern border about 2 hours inland from the coast. It's a 5 hour drive on a good day, most of it interstate (yuk). The good news is that he loves where I live and fits in beautifully here. He even has his own group of friends already. So he has no issues with moving except that he has to buy the business that he is currently running before he can move it here and that might take a little while.

    Good luck with everything!!
