This will be my very first tri season...ever.

So far, I've only officially signed up for the first one - a pool sprint in early May: The Canby Gator Grinder (Susan made me! ).

Then my plan is the following:
June: Blue Lake Sprint - June 5th (for OWS exposure)
July: no races - focus on farming
Aug: Crater Lake Century - mid-Aug
Sept: Black Hills Olympic - Sept 12 (my first Oly)

I've been slowly ramping up my running with a permanent foot issue (due to flat feet) and I been incorporating the Chi Running techniques to the best of my ability. I haven't gotten the DVD yet, but I've read the book and I'm using that. So far, so good!

I have a busy year planned!

1/1 - First Run 5K (done! Ran in sparkly dresses with a friend. Fun!)
3/14 Shamrock Run 15K (did the 5K last year)
3/28 Fort Vancouver 10K (looking to beat last year's time of 1:03:11)
4/24 & 4/25 Deschutes River Valley Time Trial Festival. 3 TTs in 2 days. I love TTs!
5/8 Canby Gator Grinder Sprint (yes, I suckered GLC into signing up too. Most of the TE staff does this tri every year. Looking to beat my time of 1:23:17, mainly by improving my run.)
5/29 Lewis & Clark 12/24 hour TT. This is the biggest maybe. If I do it, it will probably just be the 12 hr.
6/6 Blue Lake Olympic Tri (Did the sprint last year)
6/26 Pacific Crest Half Iron. My A race for the year. (Did the Olympic last year)
7/24 & 7/25 Race Across Oregon. This is the 2nd big maybe. 540 mile non-stop bike race. 40,000 feet or so of climbing. I've been asked to be half of a 2-person team.
9/11 Ring of Fire 24hr TT. (Rode 187 miles/17000 feet of elev in 2009 in 16 hrs. Would like to last for the full 24, with a goal of 275 miles/24000 feet)
10/17 Girlfriends Half Marathon (goal to beat last year's time of 2:09:56)

Looks like alot, I know, but I did this many events in 2009 and had a great time doing it. I'm goal oriented, so I like to keep my calendar full. Makes it so much easier to say no to the 2nd helping of dessert when I remember that I don't want to have to carry it around with me for all those miles!

This is fun. I am getting excited to think about it.

May 16 - Lion's Sprint Tri - this was my first tri ever last year and is a pool swim I want to do it again mostly to baseline my swim improvement and I talked two of my co-workers into trying it out.
June - Spring Tri TBD haven't decided which race
July 18 - Falmouth Tri (I also did this one last year, it was my first OWS)
August 15 - Falmouth Road Race 7 miles.
Sept 13th - Nations Tri - this will be my first Olympic Distance Tri and what I am primarily training for.
Sept 25th - Greenway Challenge Team Adventure Race. My team won the women's division last year so we need to try and defend now

In addition in August I will also ride the Pan Mass Challenge again - not a race but 192 mile bike ride over 2 days, and I will do some other 5K's through out the year.

Hey, that's awesome! I've only done one tri myself. I think most of us who are starting out just want to finish that first one so we can gain some confidence and use that experience to set goals for the next one. We all have to start somewhere!

As far as tris are concerned, I just plan on volunteering for the St. George Ironman on May 1.

If anyone is coming...let me know, perhaps we can get together.

Congrats of signing up! It takes alot of bravery to write the check.

I did an Olympic 5-6 years ago where I was one of the last out of the water. But I'm a good cyclist, so I wasn't worried about making up time. Until I got a flat. I was a really poor runner at the time, so needless to say, I was almost the last person to finish. They waited for everyone, obviously, but they *were* dismantling the finish line banner when I got there.

I love reading about all your plans.

I have 2 races on the schedule right now. IM Canada in late August and the Texas Hill Country 600 which I will be doing as a two person relay with my BF. That's 600 km not miles.

I will probably do a few of the races that Susan has planned. The Deschutes River Valley TT festival, Ring of Fire (this time as a two person team), and Pacific Crest HIM. Otherwise... who knows. I'm thinking about buying a fixer upper house so I may need to save my pennies.

I sent in my registrations for DRVTT & Pac Crest HIM today! Holding off on RoF until later in the year. There's a very small chance that I might be out of the country that week, so I'm holding off until I know for sure.
