So, I don't think I count as a newbie anymore (started seriously riding in August), but am still new enough that I keep getting to new goals.

I'm seriously proud of myself for riding 65 miles today with the DH-

    Just had to share :-)

Yee-haa!!! Good for you! Isn't it great to "get that good feeling in your legs" that only a good long ride can give you? Beware though, when rides over 50 miles become the norm, it gets really addicting!!

    Thank you all!

Tri Girl- it might be this spring or it might be next fall- but I'm sure I'll get to the 100 miles. Could be El Tour de Tucson in 2010....

CONGRATS!!! I am enjoying my last two days "off" from my six week "rest"... on Thursday I start training again. I am a cold weather weenie so i don't man up and ride outside until it is over 50 degrees (and at 50-60 degrees I whine).
If you asked me to ride 65 miles today I would dissolve into a puddle of goo just thinking about it.

Oh- I'm totally with you! It was overcast but in the 50's all day, and yes, I did whine too on the disappointing 10 mile descent into a headwind.
