any suggestions? my thighs have gotten so big that they are pulling my pants down. i'm walking around hauling them up, continuously.

i admit to being a sucky shopper, but so far i can't find a particular style or brand that works. i work at a job that really precludes dresses.

I pretty much only wear jeans. Eddie Bauer makes some nice curvy pants, though.

Costco "Kirkland" brand men's jeans ($13) fit curvy chickies quite well, odd as it may seem. I'm a 16-18 right now, and men's 36-38 waist fit nicely. The thighs are plenty roomy, as is the butt. I need a belt, however.

Plus, with men's sizes you can choose your inseam length. Very good!

(They are so cheap that I don't feel at all bad about buying a pair for my "fat pants" and then giving them to Goodwill after I get back to my normal weight.)

I've also had very good luck with Levis 560 men's jeans. Tighter waist than the Costco jeans (which fits better when I'm not so damm fat). Roomy butt and thighs. They run larger than Costco, so while I'm wearing 38 in Costco I can wear 34-36 in Levis 560.

When I'm in good shape (big thighs, high round butt, tiny waist) Levis 560 and Levis 501 fit very well, as do Diamond Gusset button fly men's and the women's regular fit.

For regular khaki-type pants I like the fit of men's Columbia ROC pants. (the women's have NO room for thigh muscles) REI "Slickrock" pants fit surprisingly well, though it can be very hard to find the 34 inch inseam at the stores. http://www.rei.com/product/746917 It seems like men's relaxed fit keep the nice snug waist, which is impossible to find in women's these days, and they give the room for the thigh and butt muscles. Be warned, the REI Slickrock pants SHRINK IN LENGTH REALLY REALLY BADLY. Buy a good 2 inches longer than your usual inseam!

I noticed that Athleta recently started making "skinny jean" style cords with athletic fit thighs. I laughed because I bought a pair of "modern fit" cords at the Loft in my regular size. I didn't realize they were the same cut as the "skinny jeans" I had bought there, but in one size up. I can barely pull the cords over my thighs.
I might have to check out the Athleta pants, because I feel like I am being strangled.

I LOVE Levi's "Curvy" 529 midrise, bootcut jeans. The junior's version (somewhat lower rise) is the 528. They are great for those of us with bubble butts, big thighs, and smallish waists.

Lucky jeans fit me the best, without the gap at the back waist. I have to find them at the consignment/2nd hand stores. Fortunately, they aren't too hard to come by here. Silver jeans fit pretty well, too. I have muscular thighs and a small waist.

    Whooo-Hooooooo!
Based on this post, I bought a pair of Levi 529 today. Excellent! I was a bit frightened by the skin-tight thighs, but the spandex keeps everything comfy. I think I like them better than my Costco jeans. They are certainly more flattering! (and I don't need a belt to control the waist, there really is NO gapping! Yay!)

Yeah, I think this is my first ever pair of jeans with 0 gap. Some jeans have enough room that I could stick an entire litter of 6 week old kittens back there.

    Where'd you get 'em?

I'm going to have to look for those. The more hills I climb, the more my thighs outgrow my 515's.

Tiny waist doesn't describe me, but if they're mid-rise that doesn't matter...

yay! Thanks. Am getting tired of waist gap and/or asking cleaners to take in the waist.

    Wouldn't you know it....

Levi's is no longer making 529s.

Soon as you find something ya like, they go and STOP MAKING IT! So, all you folks who love the 529 jeans, better go buy 'em while you can; cuz according to the Levis website "oops, we're sorry" they are no longer available. Even searching the 9 digit code on the care label on my pair came up empty.

    Boogers.
