OMGoodness what a strange sad story.

Do you think that driver of the car started riding his bike because of the accident where that poor lady's son died? Just a question that made me go hmmmmm.

I hope that you get to feeling better soon.

Perhaps he was riding a bike because his license was suspended.....

(I also had the thought that the mother was notified because of pending charges, which also might indicate that the person was not allowed to drive)
