There is Nothing like the feeling of getting your first road bike, except maybe riding your first road bike. She's a beauty, congratulations!

BTW, I like your quote of the Glen Hansard/Swell Season song. I will be seeing them Monday night, can hardly wait.

haha I know...I want to go on a nice long ride sooooo bad!!

Oh my gosh you're going to have so much fun at the swell season. Hands down most amazing show I've ever been too. And I got to meet them after, icing on the cake. They're very sweet people.

Once is one of the best movies...ever. I could listen to that soundtrack every day. I still need to get the Swell Season album.

Zoomzoom - The new swell season album has quite a few good songs on it, but their first album has a lot of the songs in the movie once. I prefer their first album and the once soundtrack the most. They are amazing musicians. I can't believe that Marketa is only 21, makes me feel like such a failure haha j/k.

I think I'm in kind of the same boat as far as the bike goes. Like I said I had been riding my hybrid for about 2 1/2 years, the year before I was riding my sisters super old Specialized mountain bike. But every year I've just been adding more and more miles, trying not to let whatever bike I was on deter me. But this last year I've been riding a lot more than I have before and I just really enjoy it. From about May to the current month I've put on about 900 miles. I've been adding on more hills. I've been going out in shitty weather when I wouldn't before. And I just really want to get faster and start putting on higher mileage on each ride like 50+ miles. I would love to do centuries someday. I plan to do STP this summer which is 200 miles over two days. So, I feel like I've proven to myself that I'm ready to have a bike that will really support me in being the rider I want to be. And luckily, I can afford it!

My husband has totally picked out this bike for me. I feel like he knows everything about bikes haha (and I'm learning as we go along)! I've always been jealous of his two bikes, wishing I could someday have something that nice.

I'm jealous of you with a hubby who only has 2 bikes...mine still has every bike he has ever owned (our 8 year old rides dad's bike, too), so I think my hubs has 6-7. Needless to say, we don't have a garage for cars.

haha...oh man! Yeah, we live in a two bedroom condo, and our spare bedroom has our bikes hanging on the wall. Now that I've got this bike, I'm selling my old bike to a friend, since I won't be riding my old bike anymore. I'm hopeful that if my husband gets another bike he'll sell one of his old ones... Or at least we'll have moved into a house with more room for them! I must admit that his bikes are awfully pretty and I could see how they would be hard to get rid of. Right now he has a bad weather and commuting bike, and then his "race" bike, so for now they have practical purpose!

Very cool that you met them, they do seem like very down-to-earth people. I saw them last year in Tulsa and they were amazing. Glen Hansard is amazing on that guitar - the one song (it escapes me at the moment) where he strums it so fast his hand blurs (really!) is unbelievable. I hear they walk around before their shows, DH and I are going to walk from hotel to the theater, maybe we'll get lucky and meet them.
