I am riding a 50 cm Trek 2.1 with Shimano 105. I got mine for $1250 not including the oodles of accessories I just HAD to get as well (first road bike!).

I'm sure I could have gotten a better price for what I wanted in my first road bike, but my 2.1 was a birthday present to myself and I can't complain - I went on a 20 mile ride today for my birthday, and I couldn't be happier with it until I get a better saddle.
