I did a 5K race this morning and did my best time so far! 26:40. I am very proud of myself! It was meaningful to me as this is my five year anniversary of quitting drinking, too. So I'm pretty psyched! I came in 11th for my age group. Sweet!
I can do five more miles.

Yay! I'm proud of you, too! Can you believe you are the same person? It's like you swapped bodies with some amazing athlete!

    WTG Indigo!

Focusing on the bike for the next couple of weeks... running's on the back burner, but definitely need to get at least a short one tomorrow.

Good job Indigo! As for me, I did my half-hour run around the neighborhood--barefoot. No VFFs today. Surfaces included mostly asphalt, a couple short areas of dirt/gravel, and grass; everything was wet since it's been raining today. It was pretty good and got me into a good mood to start my shift at work (unfortunately the good mood didn't last long--I had to listen to this one lady yelling and screaming almost the whole afternoon/evening and now I have a headache!!).

I did hill intervals out at the reservoir yesterday. 3 miles with 830 feet of climbing.

    Hill intervals! Sounds painful!
Yesterday I didn't run because I went to a Beginner's mountain bike clinic (it was okay.) Today I am running 8 miles home from my bus on mostly trail and dirt road. It will be my longest run so far... I plan on not being disappointed if I have to walk some sections (yeah... cuz of gravel! Or loose sand! Yeah!)
I can do five more miles.

Now this is weird-- twice in three days there was a murder at a house I had run past earlier that day. Different routes, different parts of town... Both were low-crime neighborhoods, in one the suspect is an ex-boyfriend and in the other an ex-tenant. I'm sure it's all just coincidence, but still...

Today was my usual Monday run, 3.5 miles, and I did it in one minute less than last week. And I hope I'm not hearing about any murders in that neighborhood on the news tonight (but there was one yesterday within eyesight of today's route)....
