Very little running for me this week. 50 minutes Moday and 35 yesterday. I'm in taper for my first ever 24 hour time trial, which starts at 6:43 am on Saturday.

I'll get back on my 1/2 marathon training plan next week, once I'm able to move my legs again.

3 miles again last night, ditched spin class to jog at park. Days are getting shorter, don't like to jog at park when it's dark. On the bright side, maybe I will get faster as the weather gets cooler

yeah, I am hoping for a bit more speed and that 3 miles does not feel like h*ll when it gets colder. Leave next Thursday for CT...looking forward to those cool runs.

Slept in, did not run. Legs sore/stiff from working out w/ trainer yesterday. I'll run tonight!

    chased by a cat

Seriously... A fierce-looking calico cat came flying out of nowhere and chased me a for a bit, growling and hissing. I've had encounters with dogs, but cats? I'm guessing she must have had kittens nearby that she was protecting...

Anyhow, it was a very pleasant 4.5 miles, with a little sprint at about 2.25 miles in!

Yesterday's run was really four separate short ones--I ran from my house to the commuter rail station, got on the train to Boston, then ran from South Station to my meeting with my advisor at school, and did the same on the way back as well (although a lot of the return trip ended up being walking). I don't know what it is about roads and sidewalks, but I could tell that my form was off during a lot of it.

I've had a great week this week. I incorporated intervals on Wednesday, using a plan I found on Runner's World. It was fun! I also upped my distance a bit today, from 3 k to 3.5 k. And I get to cycle tomorrow. Good week.

I did an hour trail run yesterday. I'm into the last 2 weeks before my race, so I'm keeping the runs at a max of an hour.

I did a 5K race this morning and did my best time so far! 26:40. I am very proud of myself! It was meaningful to me as this is my five year anniversary of quitting drinking, too. So I'm pretty psyched! I came in 11th for my age group. Sweet!
I can do five more miles.
