I ran today for the first time in 7 weeks. It was the first day of my internship and while I got home early enough to ride, it would have been a short ride, by the time I got ready.
I played it safe, though, because while my hip is better, it's still not perfect. But, it's cooler out and I miss running. I did my 3.2 mile route, walking for the first 1/3 mile and then doing run-walk intervals for about two miles; my Garmin was dead, so I don't have accurate numbers, here, but I think my intervals were about 3-6 minutes of running with 45-90 seconds of walking. I ran up one small hill (one I usually ride at 11-12 mph in the middle ring) and the first part of the hill on my street, which is steeper. I walked for about the last 1/4-1/3 of a mile, a little more than usual.
I am glad the Garmin was broken, since I was slow, but I don't care. It's not back to square one, but I think I am going to forget about speed for awhile, because that's when I got hurt.
