results of the sweet and twisted tri.....

Believe me you had to be very twisted to do this tri.......in a drought with low lake levels! It was VERY HOT yesterday but all things considered I shaved off 16 min from my last triathlon. The last one I did was 800m swim, 12mi bike and 5k.......due to lake levels we had a 400m run just to get to the bike transition area and the bike ride was 3 miles longer. I jogged part of my 400m I will keep improving as time goes on but was very pleased with my time and performance.

Here is the rough break down:
    Swim 18:17
400M+ dash 6:27 - they let us put shoes down by swim out so I already had my running shoes on
    T1 - 2:02 - I didnt even stop for bike shoes or shorts...LOL
bike - 1 hour 19min ...they said rolling hills....not constant rollers!
T2- 2:47 - put on running shorts because didn't want chaffing....shoudl have put on socks...omg the blisters
    run/walk/jog 1hour on the nose

    overall time 02:49:43

the water was 85 degrees and very hot to swim in.

Nice! I haven't done one myself but any improvement sounds like a good race, right? It sounded brutal - I hate big hills!

Wait. 400 meter run for transition? Jeez! 85 DEGREE WATER? Yow!

You should be pretty pleased with yourself on finishing this one. I'm not even going to ask how hot it WAS there. I start to sweat just forming the question in my mind.

It was humid and 80 degrees.....at 5am!!!!! By the time they got started at 8:15ish it was close to 90. When I finished the walk/run it was heading toward 95 ish.

My body really is not sore like it was yesterday but I am having a little difficulty with the blisters on my feet. I just need to be very careful and take care of them so I won't get any of them infected.

95 air temp. 85 water temp. blisters on your feet. Any ONE of those would have reduced me to a crying little girl!

Great job! And awesome improvement on your time.
