A road bike that could transform to a mountain bike at that impulsive moment when you want to cut down a path out of traffic, and that never fell over, or didn't attract trucks or squirrels, that made my butt look smaller, and told me over and over that I was beautiful.
I can do five more miles.

Heh - I'm putting my custom 'mid-life crisis' dream bike on hold for another year, but it'll be a custom Luna fast commuter bike...probably an Orbit, when I'm ready. If I didn't have to think about parking it on a bike rack or it getting stolen - it would be all Ultegra with a rockin' red/purple paint job....but I'm still working out the details in my head.
This will sit nicely next to my Terry Isis Ti that already holds a place of honor and love in my stable.![]()

I do too. Luckily I don't see too many people riding them because whenever I do, I pretty much stop looking at the road because I'm ogling the bike. But I drool (yes I do drool) over the Pinarello's
My current dream bike is their 2010 dogma:

A Luna Orbit in white/green.
And this, with SRAM components: (it is a small pick but it is a Blue RC8WB... I want red though)
That is all for now, but eventually I'll add a tri bike to that list.
Surly Big Dummy with custom paint job, full Xtracycle passenger package, my bars and saddle and pedals, and a Stokemonkey. http://cleverchimp.com/
Oh, and while I'm dreaming I'd like a down-low-glow http://rockthebike.com/lights/downlowglow, and monkeylectric lights on both wheels http://www.monkeylectric.com/

Another one who dreams of a Calfee Bamboo....with Campy....
A Serotta Ottrott is up there, too, though I'd like a full Ti bike, so a Serotta Legend Ti with S&S couplers and a nice travel case and an unlimited supply of frequent flyer miles sounds pretty good.
And another custom steel, can't yet say what style frame, from one of the small craft builders...what's not to like?
I've got a few years to hit that mid-life crisis you're talking about...I've been meaning to start a specific next bike savings fund, this might put me over the edge!![]()
Oooh, Good one. I'd probably go custom too, unless I found a really cool vintage bike to restore. Not sure which name brand or kind yet. Jenn
Thanks Ladies!! I'm drooling over some of these bikes!!
Reality did hit today, though, as I was doing a tour of some of the North Carolina universities with my daughter. If she manages to get in to Duke, it would be incredible and the school so good for her, but man, 50k a year? Ouch!! Guess my dream bike waits 5 years. But it's fun to dream!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
