Spotted in the kitchen this morning. Fiona, my 2 year old golden retriever, lying on the floor. On top of Fiona's back, paws around Fiona's neck, was our 4 month old golden, Margot, humping Fiona to beat the band. Fiona's facial expression said, "Shoot me now!" While Margot replied, "I'm the top dog here!"
Turn about is fair play. Fiona used to do the same thing to our beloved, departed Maud. But the difference is that Fiona was just 8 weeks old at the time!![]()
But they all know that Mommy is the true boss.....

Conquering illness, one step at time.
Sun - Unfortunately, the camera was not within reach or I'd have captured that moment!
Cyclegoddess, it's not disgusting or anything. It's pretty funny if you're a dog person (it's all about dominance and Margot is trying to establish her place in the pack). They are both females. Fiona is 80lbs and Margot is probably around 40lbs.

I love watching dogs sort out that whole pack position thing![]()
Yeah, everybunny wants to be the top bunny!!
Usually dominance behavior comes in the form of insults (peeing in their area, foot flicks, and turning their backs on one another). Mostly, it goes away with spay/neutering, but not always.
Tasha was about 4 pounds to Noah's 8 pounds.
We had a rabbit that used to hump my dog's head. Now THAT was hysterical!!
