MORE importantly, I can't tell what kind of bike that is... did you notice or were you too busy staring into his eyes?

I only see bar-end extenders, which are pretty standard.

if you're not going to wear a helmet, you need a huge reflector so people can see you and not run you over.

i have a "pie plate" and I'm sure there are plenty of readers of this forum who have the reflectors that came on their bike.
And to them i say there is nothing wrong with that, don't get out any tools!

This poor guy... having his bike & outfit completely dissected and over analyzed by bored cycling females from all over the world.

Hopefully one day his sister takes up cycling, does a search for women's saddle, finds team estrogen, sees his picture, and then Zen & he can live happily ever after.

Better than dissecting his other features.
Hey, I'm not bored at all!

(FWIW, i was joking around. Pie plates and reflectors definitely have their own quirky charms.)

Whew! I can leave my reflectors on. Good. That way I won't get a traffic citation. I think there's even a fine here for riding in traffic without them.

But (showing my absolute bike dorkiness) what's a pieplate? I have three, but they're all in the kitchen cupboard for when I bake multiple pies.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

She's referring to the big plastic chain protector on the back wheel. It is sometimes referred to as a pie plate. Sometimes, it's referred to as a "dork disc." Often times, folks just remove it as unnecessary.

A pie plate is a spoke protector.

Oops, 7 and I overlapped, and it looks like I was correcting her on chain protector. I really don't know, it's chain or spoke, maybe both, probably neither.

So, did you ask the honey how far he was riding? And, did you notice if he was wearing any bottoms? From this angle, he looks possibly nekkid.

I think spoke is probably technically more accurate.
