Bit of a drift... but that's an example of why buyers should hire an independent inspector and not rely on the bank's inspector (who's being paid by an entity that has an interest in seeing the deal go through). We've never regretted hiring our independent inspector. We bought the house anyway, but he pointed out a lot of things that the bank's inspector missed.
