Wow, I'm sorry you had such a bad fall!

Even though it did not work out for you, your original thought was probably the best. A friend of mine found himself drifting off the pavement and tried to bump back up (there was about a 4" step down onto gravel that sloped away). He of course did not get his front wheel back up on the pavement, so instead got caught along the edge....down he went at about 18mph. He ended up breaking his collar bone.

Hope your knee and shoulder are okay.

Oh man that sucks! I hope you mend well and don't let it get you down, the fact that you rode 10 miles back home tells me you're one tough cookie!

Rest, drink plenty of fluids and.....oh well you know the drill, just get well soon!

Sounds a whole lot like the Army's troop medical clinics... it doesn't matter whether you show up with a hangnail or all seven warning signs of cancer, you get 800 mg of "Vitamin I" and a slip for "Return to Duty."

NightOwl - hope you get to feeling better.

And they're right, those joint injuries will come back to haunt you later if you're not careful in your rehab now. Just ask my shoulders. They hate me. And I get up with Arthur every morning. I hate him.
