My DH is an experienced road cyclist, and he had always told me to keep an eye on what happens in front of me in the bunch, because if riders interfere with my wheel from the back, they are the ones to go down. He also said that when you go down it happens so fast that you'll never know what hit you.

He was right about the latter.
