I had heard about that, but didn't know anyone had been hurt. Scary!! And what a way to end your race! All that training... and THAT!
yep, saw the tree that fell and the bikes that were down, they really had a bad day!
I despise heat - TB you are amazing for completing that race. And on a borowed bike..I'm sure I couldn't get my head around that! You completed what you set out to do - maybe not in the time expected - you met obstacles with great mental fortitude. Way to go!!!!

TB: Way to go finishing such a grueling race. Wow.
AND... 25 people finished after your time, DESPITE the fact that you dealt with 3 FLATS! So reality is, you really were doing quite well.
Be glad it's over and look for a race that could be more fun next time! Keep up the great work!

Everyone Deserves a Lifetime
Hi Guys,
I have not been posting much, just dropping by once in a while, but I had to post on this one.
TB...way to go, your rr just pained me to read. The heat would have destroyed me. If and that is a big IF I ever did a long road tri like that it would have to be in the fall.
Three flats!!!I had one flat in my one and only road Olympic this year and I wanted to just cry. Three flats. All that on a borrowed bike.
You are my hero.

Thanks everyone for tremendous support...I almost signed up for another HIM, the California Oceanside in chilly March, but when I had to put my credit card number in for the $305, well, I just couldnīt do it. Will see what I can drum up, read about swimtrek (like a bike trek, swimming from greek island to greek island and the boat carries your stuff), thought is sounded worth saving my money for.
Good luck to everyone on their day to day training and races!
