Rainy season often begins here promptly on the first day of October. While it can be the clearest and warmest, there can be a good amount of rain. I had a very bad week--my dear girl dog, who had congestive heart failure, died this week. I miss her so much!! She was so good at getting me to have fun. My other dog is a little freaked out--they were companions for 10 years--and I am too. I didn't ride all week, what with needing to spend time with him after work, and finally got to go tonight, only to hit incredible wind and pelting rain on the way back, and me without any rain protection. It's at least comforting to know that I can make it back despite the bad conditions, and take a nice hot shower, and cuddle with my remaining older dog guy.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have a cat that is ten years old, and after all that time, they really seem like part of your famiy. My mother-in-law's dog passed away several years ago and their cat who was very close to the dog, really freaked out. She went through a weird depression. They even had to put her on a kitty form of Prozac for awhile. I hope you are able to show your other dog some extra attention for awhile, you could probably both use it.
Sending hugs and happy thoughts your way....

So sorry to hear about your dog. I find that one of the hardest things about sharing life with a furry friend...chances are we will outlive them. May your happy memories fill the hole in your heart.

It's always sad to hear of an older pets' passing. It really is hard on the surviving pets. When my first Newf had to be euthanized, my second was depressed for a month. She wouldn't even get on the couch the two of them had shared. My husband put her bowl down at the old girl's place and she wouldn't eat, even though in the weeks before the end she had gladly stolen from the old dog. You are a good dog Momma to spend extra time with your sad dog now. You will knit a new life together. Remember the fun times with your old dog, it is all they ask of us.
I'm sorry to hear about your pup. They say the only bad thing about dogs is they don't live long enough.
I know I'll just be inconsolable when my pup goes. She's literally saved my life a couple times. Ok everyone, hug your doggies {{{{{}}}}}}

I am so sorry to hear that you, too, have lost a furry kid. Mine was five years ago, and still stings when I think of it, but, if it's any comfort, when I think of my Yogi dog himself, it's only love and wonder that I feel!
We had gotten a pup when our Yogi was diagnosed with cancer, and they had 17 great months together. 'Cuda was such a difficult pup - a real handful! But when Yogi passed over to the Rainbow Bridge, 'Cuda became so depressed we were worried for him.
We thought we'd wait a few months before getting another dog buddy for 'Cuda. We knew we'd never have another lonely only, but thought we needed more time....'Cuda didn't let us. It was 10 days after Yogi's passing that we drove 3 hours to pick up Diva. I wouldn't have it any other way.
'Cuda's personality changed a lot - he's very sensitive and serious and rather a momma's boy, but he's quite assertive about all of that. <smile> I think it's rather sweet.
Keep that love going, wabisabi, your furry friend appreciates, and the one who waits for you at the Rainbow Bridge does too. I've gained much peace and joy and wonder because of the whole experience (it led me to photography), so, as hard as it was, I wouldn't change a thing.
Oh, yes, the other thing that came from that experience of losing Yogi, is that our dogs are now blood donors. 'Cuda has actually saved the life of 2 other dogs. I'm very proud of him!
Big hugs to you, lots of healing light and loving energy. Ride when you need to ride, but cuddle with your dog whenever you can!!!
Namaste,
~T~

{{{{{{{{{wabi}}}}}}}}}} I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved pet! We become so attached to them - and they to us. I know your pup is probably feeling better now - but knowing that doesn't really ease your loss any. Sounds like a bike ride - even in the pelting rain with no gear - was something you needed. Sending healing wishes your way my friend.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
Yup! My brother's dog was also a donor.Originally Posted by Trek420

She was a beautiful girl. Sending healing thoughts to you and your older guy dog.
Ah, wabisabi. Hug your boy tight. He can absorb a lot of tears. Lost my previous pooch 10 yrs ago just before his 16th b-day. I still tear up at times.

So sorry Wabasabi for your loss. They really are like kids aren't they. She was beautiful. My mom had one who looked just like her. She was the best darn dog. My cat and the dog use to walk together down the street. People always laughed because they were such good friends. Think good thoughts and hug your other dog, its good therapy.
My heart goes out to you Wabasabi . . . losing a furry friend is heartwrenching and as all of us know that have animals, they are much more than a pet, but a true friend. Inasmuch as it's difficult to hear these words, take comfort knowing that she's not suffering, and is running through fields and fields of green grass and lovely flowers. And, she's forever by your side.
Take care and be safe on the rainy roads.
