It's always sad to hear of an older pets' passing. It really is hard on the surviving pets. When my first Newf had to be euthanized, my second was depressed for a month. My husband put her bowl down at the old girl's place and she wouldn't eat, even though in the weeks before the end she had gladly stolen from the old dog. You are a good dog Momma to spend extra time with your sad dog now. You will knit a new life together. Remember the fun times with your old dog, it is all they ask of us.
