I second the tiara idea... I have a sparkly pink kids one from a toy shop zip-tied to the top of my kayaking helmet and it and it's "diamonds" have stuck with me through a lot!

Would be kinda neat to attach a contraption to helmet that continously produced soap bubbles as you rode along.....

So many fun wigs to choose from here.
    http://decodermot.com/wigs2.htm

I like the rag doll wig. I also like the Colonial wig.
Might be hot in the summer, but I think they're a fun idea.

I'm going on a week long bike ride this summer also, and now I want to do something crazy, too.

    Talking

Hey, more replies than I thought I would receive.

    Thanks soooooo much.

It has given me a lot of ideas, have a cunning plan of what to do now, so in a couple of weeks will post a photo, I hope.

Whatever I choose, am definitely getting some Goofy Droopy Eyes for the back, thanks OakLeaf.

Apparently when you stitch together a REEEEEALLY silly helmet , it can be sold for thousands as the height of fashion. This is a pic a local paper had of garments they saw at the recent Paris fashion week. I wonder if it comes with batteries. Lights and bells would certainly help with visibility, and flapping wings might help you with some extra lift up hills.

Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

Well, finally finished my helmet, the theme is based upon the route we are doing. Last year I rode the City Route in London, this year it is to be the Scenic Route, which goes via the Thames then through Richmond Park. Now Richmond Park is famous for deer.

So, I thought I could be the "Old Dear"!

I am not the domesticated sewing type of person but am pretty nifty with tubes of glue, I could ride through a gale force wind and my ears would not move.

Took a gamble by heating up an old thin screwdriver and made elongated holes, so I now have the air vents exposed.

Bike is all up together, helmet ready, now I just need me to be fit enough. Only 4 days to go.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Well, if I am able to ride the weather here is forecast for rain on Sunday but at least everything is glued on well and is waterproof.

12 hours to go before I see my Dr, so fingers crossed.
