Perhaps it's the stress of everything you're going through, and the excitement of the upcoming ride?

Before my last surgery, the PA took my pressure -- it was sky high! She asked "do you normally live there?" I thought that was a cute way of asking if I always have high bp. Usually it's normal or a little bit low, she figured I was in pain + nervous about surgery.
