sounds like a very disorganized race, sorry, but great bike time.
And DB, sorry about all those flats, I tried to count how many they were in the rr, but it was too many.

    Goodlord, what a fiasco.

How many years has this event been run?

But most important, when do you get your bike?

    Woo-hoo!
    Way cool.
How are you going to outfit it? Is this going to be a touring/canal bike?

Sounds like it'll be a GREAT bike, but Thanksgiving/Christmas is a looong way away... I'll bet you're more patient than I am.

Sadly, it will be here before you know it. It will probably be in the department stores around Labor Day

Thanks for the race reports. It sounds like you made the best of a bad situation.

Any idea why fully a third of the entrants would fail to start? Especially since at least some of them would have been happy that there was no swim!

I'm baffled by this. I've heard that RD's expect a 10-20% no show rate but fully 1/3 is crazy! It just doesn't make sense.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

UH! Sounds like a disaster! Sorry to hear that the race didn't go all that great.

Duathlon? No thanks. I have sworn off those myself.
