    San Diego Riders?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    Hi!
I'm a newbie in San Diego (East County)! I wondered if there were any other newbies that were looking for a riding partner? I am riding with my husband, but at this point he has a lot for endurance than me and I feel like I'm holding him back. I would love to have another girl to ride with !

I am a supreme newbie. I don't even have my bike yet! I took one MTB class through REI. I am pretty shy, but I could possibly be interested in a ride sometime. I am also in Santee.

Welcome! I'm not from San Diego, I just love riding down there...I am in Orange County.

Just wanted to tell you about the San Diego Randonneurs. If you're ever interested in brevet riding, this is a great series! We've already done the 200km, 300km and we pre-rode the 400km yesterday since we'll be in Death Valley doing the double during the 400km brevet. The website also lists all of the "permanents" which are routes you can ride on your own. There is so much great riding in East County!!!

There are a couple more 200km brevets coming up. The 4/4 one is through De Luz which was on our route yesterday...totally beautiful! The 5/23 one is Honey Springs, another great area that we went through on the 300km two weeks ago.

I feel exactly the same way with my husband. He is much faster than me. What is your average speed? I live close to downtown SD. If you ever want to ride the beach areas I will join in.

I have to say I'm jealous! We visited San Diego for the first time in November, and fell in love. We took folding bikes and had a blast. You ladies are SO lucky to live there!

Anyone still looking for a riding buddy? I live in North Park and I'm open to riding from here, or driving a bit to start a ride.

Also I know of a monthly ladies ride that starts on Adams Ave if anybody is interested.

    Smile Going to San Diego

I live on the east coast but am heading to San Diego for a week this Saturday. I'll be staying down on the beach and will have to rent a bike (hopefully that won't be a problem) but I'd love to meet some of our west coast TE'rs. I'll be there on vacation and do not have any firm plans so as of now I'm flexible. If anyone is interest in meeting up, let me know here and I'll PM my cell phone number.

    San Diego rides?

Looking for riding buddies for fun rides. I'm not on a road bike (it's a touring bike) so I'm not super fast, but I'm not a slowpoke, either. Trying to find people in the "urban core" Hillcrest, North Park, South Park, University Heights, etc. (I'm in Hillcrest) to meet up and ride either after work during the week or on the weekends for longer rides.

I tried to get a women's group together here http://www.sdbikecommuter.com/
but haven't gotten a whole lot of interest. I've gone on a number of rides through this site (check out the "DownTownies" heading) and they've been fun, but I'd like to have some other options.

    Anyone interested?

I also posted on the Touring thread about "credit card" touring if anyone is interested in that, too.
