I am a supreme newbie. I don't even have my bike yet! I took one MTB class through REI. I am pretty shy, but I could possibly be interested in a ride sometime. I am also in Santee.
Welcome!I'm not from San Diego, I just love riding down there...I am in Orange County.
Just wanted to tell you about the San Diego Randonneurs. If you're ever interested in brevet riding, this is a great series! We've already done the 200km, 300km and we pre-rode the 400km yesterday since we'll be in Death Valley doing the double during the 400km brevet. The website also lists all of the "permanents" which are routes you can ride on your own. There is so much great riding in East County!!!

There are a couple more 200km brevets coming up. The 4/4 one is through De Luz which was on our route yesterday...totally beautiful! The 5/23 one is Honey Springs, another great area that we went through on the 300km two weeks ago.
I feel exactly the same way with my husband. He is much faster than me. What is your average speed? I live close to downtown SD. If you ever want to ride the beach areas I will join in.
I have to say I'm jealous! We visited San Diego for the first time in November, and fell in love. We took folding bikes and had a blast. You ladies are SO lucky to live there!
Most days in life don't stand out, But life's about those days that will...
Anyone still looking for a riding buddy? I live in North Park and I'm open to riding from here, or driving a bit to start a ride.
Also I know of a monthly ladies ride that starts on Adams Ave if anybody is interested.
