Can't you cash out a gift card? I vote a crystal bowl. Who can't use a pretty bowl?

    Charitable donation.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." I could always use a Bed, Bath, & Beyond gift card, but I have no use for another pretty bowl. I have plenty.

I like the idea of a charitable gift, especially if the bride and groom have a favorite charity. I think it would be really cool of them, actually, to have people give a gift to Heifer Intl., for instance, as a symbolic token of the two of them starting a new life together, having their friends and families help others get a new start, too, with the gift of a cow or sheep or alpaca or something. Payin' it forward and all that.

    Or a $50 gift card.

Oh - kill the bowl - charitable donation wins! It's cash. Just not for her!

I like the charitable donation idea...material girl won't like it though. Don't get me wrong, she is a very nice woman -- just likes her "stuff".

I dunno. It's not about judging people's choices, be it a (to me) tacky pig cookie jar or plain ole money.

I'd say either give her the cash or nothing at all.

Hey I collect cookie jars, you can send me the pig! That may be one of the tackiest things I heard. I felt tacky telling people the registry. I put it this big on the back of a map, no wonder everyone kept calling mom like they should have.
