Why? I have an internal combustion engine, mine just happens to be fueled by chicken instead of liquified dinosaurs.

That is too funny! I always wave at the motorcyclists, like we're in some secret two-wheeled club or something.

    Good one Beth!

I was interviewing for a job last week, and the guy I was interviewing with mentioned that all the guys in the office ride Harley's. Ummm...ok. I'm not gonna mention my bike has pedals I'd love to have said something smart - but I do actually want a job

And I have the opposite issue - my coworkers were stunned when I started riding a motorcycle to work occasionally as they already know I am a cyclist.

Haha, similar here. My coworkers got very confused when I started to ride bicycle to work instead of my motorcycle. Some said that they miss my 'power ranger' outfit ... Nowadays, I have to be very specific when I talk about 'how I rode my bike this weekend', because it could be either: the one with an engine or the one self-propelled...

Btw, I think 'ride to work day' should be extended to bicycles too - what a great idea. Both communities have the same problems with cars. I think you should (whoever mentioned it) suggest that to the organizer Andy Goldfine:

I usually wave to the motorcycle riders but they rarely ever wave back.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Not all motorcyclists are coordinated enough to wave or watching. My mom rides and only wave about 40% of the time to other motorcyclists. When I ride on the back I wave at the cyclists.

    Gray that is fuuny.

My Dad rides a Harley and always waves at the cyclists. I in turn always wave at the Harleys (and even the other types too). He said "Hey they are bikers, just takes them a bit longer to get there." I think someone on here pointed out "Black leather or black spandex we all ride bikes".

My best memory was riding a hard ride in Ft Davis and this group of Harley Riders were stopped at an overlook as a chugged up a mountain. They yelled (nicely) "You might want a motor!" I smiled and huffed "You may be right." It took my mind off the climb for a few seconds and the tone made it funny not snide. Of course I lost weight on that trip, did they?

When we went to Amsterdam on our charity ride last year, there was a massive group of harley riders on the ferry, together with the 60-odd of us on our bicycles, when we were let off the boat in Rotterdam, the let us out before most of the cars, there was all of us riding down the gangway together with the harley riders, with us ringing our bells and the bikers honking their horns - it was great!!!
